VPS or VDS?
The honest version: VPS shares CPU time fairly between neighbours. VDS pins cores to you alone. Most workloads want VPS.
Fair-share vCPU with burst headroom. Cheaper per core, and fast enough for web apps, APIs, staging and most production sites.

A VPS is cheaper per core and faster than most people expect. These are the cases where it is not the right answer.

Query latency stops depending on what the neighbours are doing. If you page on the 99th percentile, this is the difference.
CI runners and build farms
Builds are CPU-bound by definition. Contended cores turn a six-minute pipeline into an unpredictable one.
Game and trading servers
Tick rate and fill latency are the product. A burst ceiling you share with strangers is not something to build either on.

What every server includes
What comes with every server, on the smallest size as on the largest — none of it is an add-on.
- Dedicated IPv4 address
- IPv6 address — coming soon, on every server
- 10 TB of transfer a month on a VDS, 5 TB on a VPS, counted in and out. More is $1.05 per TB a month, up to 20 TB, exclusive of 18% GST.
- A network port from 200 Mbit/s on a VDS (100 Mbit/s on the smallest VPS), growing with the size of the server. Never billed.
- A cloud firewall run from the panel, and security groups — named rule sets you reuse across servers
- The server's own screen and keyboard in your browser, for when SSH or Remote Desktop will not answer
- SSH keys put on when it is built, or generated in the panel
- Free e-mail alerts when it goes down or comes back, and when CPU, memory or network stay high
- Live usage and graphs of CPU, memory, disk and network, by the hour up to the year
Transfer resets each calendar month. If a server uses all of it, it is disconnected or slowed until the month ends or you add more.
Operating system images
Clean upstream images, rebuilt weekly. Pick one when you deploy; a rebuild from the panel swaps it for another later, keeping the server's addresses.
The Windows Server instance licence is free for your first 180 days. After that you activate it with a licence key of your own, and we do not bill it either way. Sixty-plus one-click application images — panels, stacks, CMS, databases — install on top of these: each on the images it supports, most of them Ubuntu and Debian, and the Windows ones, such as Tally and MetaTrader, on Windows Server.
Add-ons and extra disks
Nothing here is bundled into a server price. Add any of it when you deploy. Backups, management, call alerting and extra transfer can also be added later from the panel, where the rest of the month is charged and they switch on in seconds; extra IPv4 addresses and extra disks are monthly subscriptions of their own, and a move is charged once.

A server can be rebuilt in the other location later. It gets a fresh system and a new IPv4 address there, and its extra disks are copied across at $0.01 per GB, once, exclusive of 18% GST — with no extra disks, the move costs nothing.
Automate it with the Getwebup Cloud API
Everything you do in the panel, from your own code: order, resize, rebuild, back up and destroy servers, and manage their firewalls, disks and addresses. The Getwebup Cloud API is JSON over HTTPS, described by an OpenAPI 3.1 spec you can import into Postman or a client generator.
