VPS or VDS?
The honest version: VPS shares CPU time fairly between neighbours. VDS pins cores to you alone. Most workloads want VPS.
Fair-share vCPU with burst headroom. Cheaper per GB of RAM, and fast enough for web apps, APIs, staging and most production sites.

Builds are CPU-bound by definition. Contended cores turn a six-minute pipeline into an unpredictable one.

Tick rate and fill latency are the product. A burst ceiling you share with strangers is not something to build either on.
