What MetaTrader is

MetaTrader 4 and 5 are Windows desktop applications. Running one on a VPS means running Windows on a server and connecting to it over remote desktop — there is no web version, so this is remote access to a real desktop rather than a browser interface.

The reason people do it is continuity. A terminal running an Expert Advisor has to stay connected for the EA to act; a laptop that sleeps, reboots for updates or loses power stops it. A server does not sleep, and its internet connection is not your home broadband.

The other reason is network distance to the broker, and this is the part most VPS marketing gets wrong. Latency that matters is between the server and your broker's trade server — not between the server and you. If your broker runs in London or New York, a server in India is further from it, not closer, however good the connection to your desk feels. Find out where your broker's server actually is before choosing a region, and treat any provider that sells you "low latency" without asking that question with suspicion.

“MetaTrader 5 is a free application for traders allowing to perform technical analysis and trading operations in the Forex and exchange markets.”

Why run MetaTrader on a VPS

Runs continuously, so an EA keeps working when your own machine is off.

A static address, which some brokers allow-list.

RDP access from any device, including a phone, to check on a terminal.

Memory and disk of your own, and physical CPU cores on a VDS if you want them, which matters when several terminals run at once.

Indian regions when your broker is in or near India — and honest advice to look elsewhere when it is not.

How deployment works

MetaTrader is installed on a Windows instance with RDP configured and the terminal set to start on boot so it recovers after a reboot. You supply your own broker account details; we do not have them. Choose the region by where your broker's trade server is, not by where you are — that is the distance that affects order round-trip time.

It is your server. MetaTrader is installed directly on your VPS or VDS, not inside a container we manage. You get root over SSH, you can install anything alongside it, change its configuration, or remove it entirely. We do not hold a key to it.

What people run it for

Running Expert Advisors

Automated strategies that need the terminal connected continuously.

Multiple terminals

Several broker accounts open on one machine.

Independence from local hardware

A terminal that survives a power cut or a laptop reboot.

Checking in remotely

RDP from a phone or tablet without leaving a desktop running at home.

MetaTrader hosting questions

A Windows server running MT4 or MT5, reached over remote desktop, so the terminal stays online independently of your own computer.

Deploy MetaTrader on your own server

Root access, your choice of size, and no container between you and the application.
